BOK CHAMBAB
What is Bok Chambab
Bok Chambab is a traditional Khmer wrestling, a kind of sport that two players strive to force the opponent on their back to the ground. There are three rounds per match; the one who wins two out of three rounds is the winner. After each round, the loser will be asked whether he/she wants to carry on the match or not. Before the match begins, there is a ritual dancing. Wrestlers perform dancing accompanied by music of two drums, called Skor Ngy means female drum and Chhmol means male drum. This traditional wrestling is cerebrated during other festivals especially Khmer New Year, Ben Phchum Ben and Water Festival around Cambodia.
